About Gigabyte
Gigabyte Technology is a computer hardware company based in New Taipei City, Taiwan, founded in 1986. Motherboards are its core business, and it also makes graphics cards, power supplies, monitors, laptops and server hardware. Its AORUS name is used for gaming-focused motherboards, graphics cards and accessories, so you will see it on many boxes.
When we build PCs, a motherboard is the part everything else plugs into, so we choose it first and match the processor, memory and case to it. Gigabyte boards are available for both AMD and Intel processors, in several sizes and at a wide spread of budgets. We build, test and support each PC we make, including any Gigabyte parts inside it.
The key point when choosing a motherboard is compatibility. The processor socket must match your CPU, the board must take the type of memory you plan to use (DDR4 or DDR5), and its size must fit your case. For a graphics card, check the card's length against the case and the power connectors against your power supply. Ring us if unsure.

Choosing Gigabyte parts
- Match the motherboard socket to your processor first. A CPU only fits boards with the same socket, and the product page names it.
- Check whether the board uses DDR4 or DDR5 memory. The two types are not interchangeable, so buy memory to suit the board.
- Look at the board size, such as ATX, micro-ATX or mini-ITX, and make sure your case supports it before ordering.
- For a graphics card, compare its length and power connectors with your case and power supply, or ask us to check for you.
