About ASUS

ASUS, formally ASUSTeK Computer, was founded in 1989 and is based in Taipei, Taiwan. It makes a broad range of computer hardware, including motherboards, graphics cards, monitors, laptops and Wi-Fi routers. Its ROG (Republic of Gamers) and TUF Gaming names are widely recognised in gaming hardware, and ProArt is aimed at creative work.

Motherboards are the part we fit most often from ASUS. The motherboard decides which processor and memory a PC can use, so we choose it first when planning a build, then test the finished PC in our Worcester workshop. We also stock ASUS monitors and graphics cards to go with it.

When choosing a motherboard, check the processor socket and the memory type. An AMD processor and an Intel processor need different motherboards, and some boards take DDR4 memory while newer ones take DDR5. Size matters too, because the board must fit your case. Ring us if you want a second opinion.

ASUS is known for

  • Motherboards for both AMD and Intel processors
  • ROG (Republic of Gamers) and TUF Gaming ranges
  • ProArt range for creative work
  • Monitors, graphics cards and Wi-Fi routers
  • Founded in 1989, based in Taipei, Taiwan

What we stock from ASUS

Choosing ASUS parts

  • Check the motherboard socket against your processor. AMD and Intel processors use different sockets, so a board for one will not take the other.
  • Look at the memory type on the product page. A motherboard takes either DDR4 or DDR5 memory, never both, so buy memory to match.
  • Check the form factor. ATX is full size, while micro-ATX and mini-ITX boards are smaller. The board must fit your case and the case must list that size.
  • For monitors, check the screen size and which connections it has, such as HDMI or DisplayPort, and make sure your graphics card has a matching output.

Questions about ASUS

Which ASUS motherboard do I need for my processor?

You need one with the same socket as your processor. AMD and Intel use different sockets, and each has changed sockets over the years. Tell us which processor you have and we will point you to a motherboard that fits.

What do ROG and TUF Gaming mean on ASUS products?

They are ASUS product ranges. ROG stands for Republic of Gamers and TUF for The Ultimate Force. Both are used on gaming hardware such as motherboards and monitors. The ranges differ in features, so check each product page.

Does an ASUS motherboard include Wi-Fi?

Some models do and some do not. The product page lists whether Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in. If not, we also stock wireless adapters that you can add separately.

Can you fit an ASUS motherboard or graphics card for me?

Yes. We can fit parts bought from us, and we carry out repairs and upgrades at our Worcester shop. Ring 01905 673738 and we will talk through what is involved.

What if my ASUS part develops a fault?

The manufacturer's warranty applies, and we can help if something goes wrong. Bring it in or ring us and we will help find out whether the part, or something else in the PC, is causing the problem.

Not sure what fits, or want a PC built around ASUS parts? Ring us on 01905 673738 for honest advice, or build your own PC and we check every part fits.
