About MSI
MSI, short for Micro-Star International, was founded in 1986 and is based in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The company first made its name with motherboards and has since added graphics cards, power supplies, coolers, cases and laptops, including a gaming laptop range, to what it sells.
In the PCs we build, an MSI motherboard is often the base everything else connects to, and we also fit MSI coolers, power supplies and cases. We build, test and support each PC in Worcester, so the parts are checked working together before the PC leaves the shop.
When choosing a motherboard, match the socket to your processor, because AMD and Intel use different ones. Also check which memory type the board takes, DDR4 or DDR5. For a power supply, make sure it has enough capacity and the right connectors for your graphics card. Ring us if you are unsure.

Choosing MSI parts
- Match the motherboard socket to your processor. A board made for an AMD processor will not take an Intel one, and the reverse is also true.
- Memory type is fixed by the motherboard. Look for DDR4 or DDR5 on the product page and buy memory to match, because they do not fit each other's slots.
- For a graphics card, check that your case has space for its length and that your power supply has the plugs it needs.
- For a CPU cooler, check that it supports your processor's socket and will fit inside your case, particularly if the cooler is tall.
Questions about MSI
How do I know if an MSI motherboard works with my processor?
Check that the socket matches first. Then check the motherboard supports your specific processor model, as some older boards need a BIOS update. Send us the model names or ring us and we will check the pairing before you buy.
Do you stock MSI graphics cards?
We stock a range of MSI graphics cards. Stock changes, so the product pages show what is available today. If you need a particular model, ring us and we can tell you if it is something we can get.
Will an MSI graphics card fit in my case?
Graphics cards vary a lot in length and thickness. Check the card's size on the product page against the space inside your case. If you are unsure, tell us your case and we will check it with you.
Can you build a PC using MSI parts?

What if an MSI part stops working?
The manufacturer's warranty applies, and we can help if something goes wrong. Contact us and we will help work out whether the part or something else in the PC is at fault.
